Volumetric and FT-IR Studies of the Binary Liquid Mixtures of Tributylamine and Alkyl Ester (C-1-C-5)
Herein, physicochemical functions were obtained using the density (rho) and speed of sound (u) data of tributylamine (TBA) + alkyl acetate (C-1-C-5) mixtures at a pressure of 101.325 kPa and at five different temperatures (293.15-313.15 K). An Anton Paar DSA 5000 M was used to determine the values of density (rho) and speeds of sound (u) of the pure components and respective binary mixtures. It has been found that the function obtained from the density (V-m(E)) is positive and that from speeds of sound (u(E)) is negative at all concentrations and at 293.15-313.15 K, which show that the presence of weak intermolecular interactions (dipole-dipole type) is also supported by FT-IR studies. The results obtained for V-m(E) experimentally and theoretically (PFP theory) were correlated with each other.
