Structural, magnetic and electrochemical properties of LSMO-ZnO core-shell nanostructure
LSMO-ZnO core-shell nanocomposite has been synthesized by using the sol-gel method. The structural, magnetic and electrochemical properties of the LSMO-ZnO based core-shell structure has been investigated in detail. The XRD analysis shows the coexistence of LSMO (rhombohedral, R (3) over barc) and ZnO (hexagonal, P63mc) phase in the composite without any impurity. The microstructural analysis confirms that the formation of LSMO-ZnO core shell structure with average particle size similar to 27.5 nm. The magnetic measurement shows that the magnetization decreases and magnetic transition temperature shifts from 360 K to 240 K for LSMO-ZnO core shell nanocomposite. The presence of ZnO introduces compositional and magnetic disorder near LSMO-ZnO interface. The electrochemical properties of the LSMO-ZnO core shell structure has been significantly improved as compared to the pure LSMO.
