Barley seeds were grinded in an improved beater mill under lab. conditions to det. the effectiveness of the barley grain shredding. Use of the new construction resulted in a decrease of the harmful dusty fraction content to 7.7%, the decrease of the content of the fine fraction down to 9.2%, and a significant increase of the content of the coarse fraction in the shredded material up to 16.4%.
