The effect of functional group content on the adsorption properties of SBA-15 mesoporous silica
Adsorptive properties of a NH2(CH)(3)Si(OEt)(3)-modified corn. SiO2 (SBA-15) (molar ratio 0.05 or 0.20) towards sulindac were detd. Textural properties of the SBA-15 and its 3-aminopropyl groups-contg. functionalized forms were detd. by low temp. N-2 adsorption. Freundlich, Jovanovic, Langmuir and Dubinin-Astakhov models of isotherms were used. Non-linear fitting anal. was employed for estn. of the isotherm parameters. The adsorption capacity (Dubinin-Astakhov model) of SBA-15 towards sulindac was 221.3 mg/g at NH2(CH2)(3)Si(OEt)(3)-to-SiO2 ratio 0.20. It was over 2.5 times higher than the capacity of SBA-15 at NH2(CH2)(3)Si(OEt)(3)to-SiO2 ratio 0.05.
