The Effect of pH on the Localized Etching Process-Induced by Laser Irradiation
The pH of copper sulfate solution affects the formation of the passive layer, mainly Cu2O, on the copper surface under laser irradiation. The electrode process can be changed from electroless deposition to etching due to the formation of this passive material coupled with the dissolution of copper. The etching effect is obtained even under a low laser power density when the pH of the copper sulfate solution is controlled between 4.3 and 2.0.
