Conductivity Studies on Poly(Methoxyethoxyethylmethacrylate)-Lithium Salt Complexes
Poly(MEEMA), poly(methoxyethoxyethylmethacrylate), a short etheroxy side chain containing polymethacrylate, readily forms polymer-metal salt complexes with LiX(X(-) = ClO4-, BF4-, CF3SO3-) and MI(M = Na, K). Detailed de conductivity measurements by a complex impedance method have been carried out on poly(MEEMA)-LiX complexes by Varying the (polymer:metal salt) composition ratio at different temperatures. The ionic conductivities of these polymer electrolytes are high, with the best values obtained for the LiBF4 system. The temperature dependence of ionic conductivity is not linear and exhibits a curvature suggesting a non-Arrhenius behavior. However, the Vogel-Tammann-Fulcher plots are linear.
