Waste polyamide was mixed with coal-tar pitch for prepn. of porous C materials. The mixts. contained 10-50% by mass of the polyamide and were homogenized at 250 degrees C for 30 min and carbonized and/or activated with KOH, NaOH, Mg(OH)(2) or Ca(OH)(2). Iodine values and surface chem. were detd. The materials were successively tested in industrial wastewater treatment.
