Investigation of Heterogeneous NO Reduction by Biomass Char and Coal Char Blends in a Microfluidized Bed Reaction Analyzer
The heterogeneous NO reduction characteristics with biomass char and coal char blends in a microfluidized bed reaction analyzer (MFBRA) and its kinetic analysis were investigated. Sawdust char had better and longer NO reduction activity compared with those of the other two samples. The order of total reduction ability is sawdust char > rice husk char > coal char. Kinetic analysis of the NO-char reaction showed that coal char had the minimum activation energy, E, and pre-exponential factor, A, while rice husk char had the maximum kinetic parameters. The kinetic parameters of sawdust char were between those of coal char and rice husk char. By comparing the real NO-char reactivity with the calculated kinetic parameters, it can be concluded that the reactivity is represented by both E and A. Moreover, sawdust char/coal char mixing ratios had a linear relationship with E and an exponential relationship with A.
