Impact of design and parameters of the drum cutting assembly operation on non-uniformity of biomass length cutting
A test stand for biomass cutting was designed and constructed. It consisted of a cutting drum and pulling-crushing roller systems which were sep. driven and controlled. An innovative cutting drum construction was used, enabling biomass slant cutting. The degree of biomass cutting non-uniformity (dry straw from winter rye) was similar to the obtained as a result of classic cross-cutting. The new design of the drum cutting assembly showed high functioning performance measured with capacity and the unit energy consumption.
