Power-to-X Applications with Connection to the Power Grid
Power-to-X applications (PtX) are part of the energy transition and therefore in the discussion since they are expected to be able to use the temporary surpluses of electrical energy from the direct use of sun and wind. Using Germany as an example, the surplus benefits and periods to be expected in the coming decades will be analyzed. In addition, both the portions of demand that can be covered in a timely manner by generating electricity from renewable energies and the portions of demand that cannot be covered by them without intermediate storage are shown as examples.
