Adsorption of Beta-Radioactive Li-8 on Single-Crystal Surfaces - Thermal-Desorption Spectroscopy and Nuclear-Magnetic-Resonance Experiments
Experiments with beta-radioactive Li-8 atoms adsorbed on clean and oxygen covered W(110) and Ru(0001) surfaces are presented. The detection of the decay electrons allows experiments with adsorbates at extremely low coverages (10(-5) monolayers). Nuclear spin relaxation and nuclear magnetic resonance experiments are described beside radiation detected thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS), a new version of TDS experiments.
