AgCoO2/MWCNTs with three-dimensional accessible surface as novel electrocatalyst for highly sensitive nonenzymatic detection of glucose
Searching for novel sensing material for highly sensitive nonenzymatic detection of glucose is important. In this paper, it is the first time that AgCoO2/MWCNTs was exploring as electrocatalyst for glucose oxidation. Structural characterizations reveal that AgCoO2 and MWCNTs are interconnected with a three-dimensional porous structure, which leads to attractive electrocatalytic activity for glucose oxidation. The sensor based on AgCoO2/MWCNTs is found to exhibit excellent analytical performances for glucose with an extremely high sensitivity of 8214.3 mu A mM(-1) cm(-2) and a wide linear range of four orders of magnitude. Such results indicate that AgCoO2/MWCNTs can be employed as a promising material for electrochemical sensing of glucose and also opens avenues for applications of AgCoO2 in the fields of electrochemical sensing.
