Optimization of processing condition for dome-shaped PVDF piezoelectric device for large area tactile sensors
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) has been applied in various industries due to its excellent piezoelectric property. In this study, the optimization of various processing conditions such as poling strength, poling duration and the surface morphology (angle) of the sensors were systematically investigated for large-area tactile sensor based on a 0.8 mm-thick film. Specifically, the performance parameters of the tactile sensor such as sensitivity, responsibility and response against loading forces were investigated. Since the tactile sensor was fabricated via a combination of 2D and 3D printing processes, this process can be practiced in the industry to fabricate large-size tactile sensors based on PVDF based piezoelectric devices.
