Optimization of crystallization parameters for synthesis of zeolitic materials from coal fly ash using fusion/hydrothermal method
Synthesis of zeolitic materials with coal fly ash (CFA) using a fusion/hydrothermal method was performed by various crystallization parameters such as aging time, crystallization time, crystallization temperature, and Na2CO3/CFA ratio. When the zeolitic materials were synthesized from the CFA, the XRD peaks of zeolitic materials located almost the same as the XRD peaks of commercial Na-A zeolite at optimization crystallization conditions such as Na2CO3/CFA ratio of 1.8, aging time of 5 h at the room temperature, crystallization time of 5 h, and crystallization temperature of 90 degrees C. The zeolitic materials were found to be identified the crystals structure of the Na-A zeolite and the formation of sharp-edged cubes by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis. This study suggested the optimized crystallization parameters for the synthesis of the zeolitic materials with the CFA by the fusion/hydrothermal method.
