Enhanced photocatalytic performance of novel MIL53Sr metal-organic framework (MOF) for RhB dye degradation and H-2 evolution by coupling MIL53Fe
Herein, we report the synthesis and photocatalytic performance of novel MIL53Sr and MIL53Fe@MIL53Sr composite photocatalysts. The activities of the photocatalyts were evaluated for H2 generation and degradation of RhB dye under visible and UV-visible irradiations. It is investigated that the MIL53Fe@MIL53Sr composite photocatalyst is capable of producing 1.8 mu mol.h(-1).g(-1) and 226 mu mol.h(-1).g(-1) of H2 respectively, under visible and UV-visible irradiations with the aid of co-catalyst Pt. Further, the MIL53Fe@MIL53Sr photocatalyst has the ability to degrade 67% and 75% of RhB respectively, under visible and UV-visible irradiations for 1 h. In addition, the MIL53Fe@MIL53Sr photocatalyst is highly stable during photocatalysis as confirmed by the recyclable experiments. This work will trigger the design of highly proficient visible light active MOF composites for solar fuel production and environment purification.
