Status review on the Cu2SnSe3 (CTSe) thin films for photovoltaic applications
In the earth-abundant low-cost thin-film solar cells, selenide based chalcogenides such as CTSe (Cu2SnSe3) has been driven great attention in the photovoltaic applications. Therefore, potentially attractive, yet not well studied, copper-tin based chalcogenide material Cu2SnSe3 is reviewed comprehensively. This review article is mainly focused on the discussion about the physical properties of Cu2SnSe3, deposition techniques, and photovoltaic performance of the Cu2SnSe3 solar cells. In this review, the limiting factors in attaining the higher efficiencies and suggestions for efficiency improving methods of CTSe solar cells are discussed. This is the first comprehensive review, solely dedicated to Cu2SnSe3 thin films and corresponding photovoltaic applications, which can help the readers to attain the outline of Cu2SnSe3 thin films.
