Controlled conjugation of nanoparticles with single stranded DNA
The controlled conjugation of Au nanoparticles using single-stranded DNA has been achieved by Watson-Crick base pairing interaction and a biotin-streptavidin reaction. Observation by atomic force microscopy have confirmed the one-to-one binding of Au nanoparticles to plasmid DNA. The results suggest that this method could be utilized to achieve nanoscale arrangements in a wide range of applications.
