Applicability of chemical absorption process to carbon dioxide removal and recovery under effluent gas conditions of coal-fired power plant
Applicability of the chemical absorption process to carbon dioxide removal and recovery under effluent gas conditions equivalent to those for coal-fired power plants was tested. From the pilot plant test results using KS-3 absorbent at an exhaust gas flow rate of 450 m(3)/h, overall performance of the system was confirmed by about 200 hours' operation with 50 ppm coexisting SOx. Furthermore it is found, that longer operation is permitted, judging from the experimental evidence of KS-3's corrosion properties under coal-fired conditions compared to those at LNG-fired power plants.
