Solvent borne bonding agents are state of art for the production of heavy duty rubber-metal components. Under ecological view these products are doubtful because of volatile organic contents. The paper shows that the actual waterborne bonding-systems are an up-to-standard alternative. Besides that the necessary changes of parameters for surface-pretreatment and processing are described.
