Based on material properties of Zetpol HNBR and Norsorex Polynorbornen the application ranges of these elastomers for roll covers are discussed. The different application profiles of fully hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated HNBR in the paper industry are characterised in terms of dynamic properties, ageing resistance and abrasion resistance. The specific advantages of Norsorex Polynorbornen for paper feeding roils in for instance copy machines, fax machines and printers are explained. Properties of a new generation of masterbatches are introduced.
