Process control in injection-moulding of elastomers with heat-flux sensors
Special heat-flux sensors are mounted in the mould to collect data on the exchanged heat-flux between the mould and the article, To determine the best location to mount such heat-flux sensors simulation-calculations are carried out, Further, several mounting locations are examined in practical experiments, The experiments show clear correlations between process-parameters and certain characteristic values which are calculated from the measured sensor-signal, Corresponding characteristic values may as well be correlated with the crosslinking characteristics of the article, Therefore, heat-flux sensors are capable to serve for process control as well as basic for a process-model for quality control.
