The interactions between compounding ingredients are responsible for the physical properties of rubber compounds. It is shown in this paper that the most important interactions are the polymer-polymer and filler-filler interactions. The filler-polymer interactions are relevant to improving both the dispersion of the filler and the high frequency behavior.
