New thermoreversible and combined networks via hydrosilylation with neutral Pt(II)-complexes
In accordance to natural systems a concept for the synthesis of thermoplastic elastomers based on three-dimensional clusters through hydrogen bonding was developed. New modifiying agents were added to methyl siloxane-dimethyl siloxane copolymers and polydienes via hydrosilylation with [Pt-II(R2S)(2)Cl-2]. Likewise hydrosilylation was used to prepare covalent and combined polydiene networks with both covalent and thermoreversible crosslinks. The elastomer films were characterized by dynamic mechanical analysis and stress-strain-measurements. The combined networks show a strong temperature dependent rubber plateau which converges against the modulus of the pure covalent network at higher temperatures.
