Mechanical, rheological and morphological properties of recycled expanded polystyrene/styrene butadiene rubber blends
Mechanical, rheological and morphological properties of recycled expanded polystyrene/styrene-butadiene rubber (rPS/SBR) blends are studied. The SBR concentration was between 0 and 50 %. Properties of brittle rPS could be changed by SBR. At > 20 wt.-%, significant increases in elongation at break and impact strength were observed. Tensile strength, hardness and T-g decreased with increasing SBR content. The viscosity of the blends decreased with increase in shear rate and increased with increasing SBR content.
