Progress in the further introduction of TPE applications is essentially a question of economics. From the point of view of material properties, elastomers are always superior when very low permanent deformation in extreme heat or cold is required. If TPEs want to compete with the classic elastomers, they must possess comparable heat and media resistance, and comparable compression deformation behaviour.
