Low friction and high wear-resistance can be achieved in plastics components by the use of suitable friction- and wear-reducing fillers. Polyphenylene sulphone (PPSO2) appears to be a particularly effective filler for improving the friction and wear properties of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).
