To decouple individual process stages, plastics raw materials are temporarily stored in silos or small containers. The powders or pellets then often have to be conveyed out of the silo and fed in metered amounts to the next process in the sequence. Because of the widely varying properties of different bulk materials, special demands are made on the storage conveying or metering technologies, which are systematically examined.
