Mixing elements with new geometries
Advances in the design of tightly intermeshing co-rotating twin-screw extruders have resulted in greater demands on the performance of screw elements. When analyzing special designs for kneading elements and multi-tooth mixing elements, the pressure and temperature behaviours specifically were investigated in detail. The change in rheological properties as a consequence of the load placed on the material during processing is taken into consideration in the analysis of these special and mixing elements.
