In the development of a multi-daylight mould with a rotating centre plate, the chief concern was to improve the economy of the overmoulding process. The main advantage of the multidaylight principle is to reduce clamp force and decrease production costs. In the example of a car rear light, a reduction of 5 % is achieved in machine-related production costs.
