Well-defined and different morphologic alpha -Fe2O3 particles with a well dispersibility have been prepared from Fe(OH)(3) gel via the solvothermal process in the presence of n-butylalcohol or dimethylbenzene as medium and characterized by XRD, TEM, and IR techniques. The effects of the solvents and reaction conditions on the particle morphology were also discussed.
