Mixed valent molybdenum monophosphates with an interconnected tunnel structure A(2)Mo(3)O(5)(PO4)(3) (A = Cs, Rb, Tl, K)
A series of mixed valent monophosphates isotypic with Rb2Mo2WO5(PO4)(3) have been synthesized : A(2)Mo(3)O(5)(PO4)(3) (A = Rb, Tl, Ca), K0.4Cs1.6Mo3O5(PO4)(3), Rb1.18Cs0.82Mo3O5(PO4)(3), and Cs2Mo2.866W0.136O5(PO4)(3). The structural study of these compounds shows the high flexibility of the [Mo3P3O17](infinity) framework and the great selectivity of the two kinds of sites that are available for univalent cations in this interconnected tunnel structure.
