Internal Electric-Fields and Inhomogeneous Broadening - Protoporphyrin-IX in Myoglobin
Estimates of the relative contributions of dispersive and electrostatic interactions to the solvent shift of the Q(x) excitation energy of protoporphyrin-IX in myoglobin are derived from measurements of the dependence of Stark splitting on frequency.
