The adsorption and reaction of NO, CH4 and O-2 on La2O3 and Sr-promoted La2O3
Significant NO adsorption occurred at 300 K on both La2O3 and Sr-promoted La2O3, with irreversible adsorption increasing from 3.2 to 8.1 mu mol/m(2) at the maximum loading of 8% Sr. On La2O3 the total NO uptake remained at 5.0+/-0.5 mu mol/m(2) between 300 and 773 K; however, the irreversible portion dropped sharply above 600 K. In contrast, total oxygen chemisorption was much lower at 300 K (ca. 0.1 mu mol O-2/m(2)), reached a maximum between 500 and 600 K, then dropped noticeably at higher temperatures. On all catalysts, the specific activities (mol/s/m(2)) increased in the order : NO decomposition
