Risk assessment of an ionizing-radiation energy in diagnostic radiology
Assessment of ionizing-radiation energy has been studied using diagnostic X-ray radiography patients at the King Khalid Hospital King Saud University, Saudi Arabia during the year 1992. The dose imparted, as well as doses to the thyroid, breast, lung, bone-marrow, ovary and testis have been calculated for many types of radiographic examinations. Collective doses have been calculated as well as risk estimates. For the protection and safety of patients, qualitative information and a collection of numerical data concerning X-ray radiodiagnostic procedures according to hazards are provided to aid the clinician and to reduce the potential risks to the patients.
