A softwear package for determination of optimum well circulating parameters and drilling mud properties has been developed. Calculations have been conducted to show, that drilling of slim hole horizontal wells requires application of muds with increased yield dynamic stress and relatively low plastic viscosity. Drilling muds with enhanced structural-mechanical properties are proposed.
