Compositions of fluids including one of the relatively poorly known, but rather available for wide utilization, agents LI sodium formate LI have been studied. Reviewed are the properties of sodium formate produced in the form of both a solution and a powder. A conclusion is made about the fact that drilling fluids on the basis of sodium formate can be widely used for well drilling in complicated conditions or in lost circulation zones.
