Presented are advantages of using electric energy for drilling purposes instead of other types of energy. Reviewed is a method of deep drilling, utilizing electric drive, and technology of its implementation. It is stated, that application of electric power supply during electric drive drilling enables wide utilization of special devices for sealing-off operations and well completion activities.
