The paper discusses specific features of the first horizontal wells drilled by OAO Surgutneftegaz and drilling performance results obtained at Fedorovskoye field using new technologies. Technical and economic performance of the company＇s horizontal drilling projects in 1995 and 1996 is highlighted.
