It is noted, that further development of Russian oil-gas complex requires creation of principally new technologies for prospecting, exploration and production of hydrocarbon resources. It is shown, that solution of the cited problems is impossible without conducting integrated fundamental and field researches of the main aspects of oil and gas science, Described are the key directions and results of activities of the institute of Oil and Gas Problems, founded 10 years ago with the purpose of oil and gas science development.
