INTERNATIONAL ENERGY AGENCY PROJECT ON FLOWING GRANULAR-MATERIALS
This is a synopsis of a meeting held under the auspices of the International Energy Agency to consider the possibility of a formal international co-operation in studies of flows of granular materials. Representatives from seven countries attended. Interest was shown by several other countries. It was decided that such a co-operation could be fruitful. While the exact area of study is left open, flows in silos seems a likely candidate. The accepted mechanism for such collaboration is that each country provides funding for its own efforts, the principal means of co-operation being exchange of information and visits by scientists. An efficient method for exchange of information remains to be established. Electronic mail is a possibility.
