Role of micelle formation in reactions of high-temperature oxidation of hydrocarbons
An examination is made of features of the kinetics and the composition of the reaction products of liquid-phase oxidation of hydrocarbons. A new concept is put forward concerning the formation of supermolecular associates, including reversed micelles, the formation of which may be particularly great at high temperatures and with extensive conversions. The influence of association on the mechanism of inhibition of oxidation of hydrocarbon systems is discussed.
