As resins, machinery, and controls are continuously refined, and as sheet extrusion capabilities advance, thermoforming is taking a strong position as a processing method that can compete with other plastics-forming processes such as solid and foam injection molding, blow molding, and rotational molding. Now more science than art, thermoforming appears to have possibilities that product designers and machine builders are just beginning to imagine.
