The optimum thermoforming conditions for thin-gauge polypropylene sheet are determined, and the processing characteristics of a nucleated grade and an unnucleated grade are compared. The tests highlight the importance of yielding, and nucleating agents appear to aid in sheet extrusion as well as in enhancing the properties of the final parts.
