Optimizing the vibration welding of glass-reinforced nylon joints
By optimizing welding parameters and glass-fiber loadings, reinforced nylon 6 and nylon 66 butt joints were produced with up to 17% higher tensile strengths than the base polymers, The high tensile strength may be attributed to a wide weld zone that permits the fiber to orient in other than the flow direction and to cross the weld interface.
