Using thermography to optimize the blow-molding process
Real-time wall-thickness distributions for blow-molded parts can be obtained through use of thermography, a nondestructive, noncontact characterization technique. Using a thermographic imaging technique in conjunction with a three-layer coextrusion, 3-D blow-molding machine, the authors show how the technique can be used to optimize the blow-molding process.
