Factors affecting variation in Gardner Impact testing
According to the author, the Gardner impact Test has been considered a quick, easy test for approximating the mean failure energy of many plastics. Yet variations in test results are well known. The article describes experiments demonstrating the effects of several variables and indicates means of improving the test's accuracy.
