Composites of Novel Biodegradable Copolyamides Based on Adipic Acid, 1,6-Hexane Diamine and L-Proline with Short E-Glass Fibers .1. Preparation and Properties
The current demand for environmentally degradable composites has initiated the use of novel biodegradable copolyamides reinforced with E-glass fibres by using the hand lay-up technique. Differential thermal analysis, wide-angle X-ray diffraction patterns and density measurements were employed for the characterization of polymeric composites. The thermal properties of composites, namely T-g and T-m, were determined using differential thermal analysis and dynamic mechanical thermal analyser measurements. The stress-strain curves and compression strength measurements were recorded and correlated with the glass fibre, void and amino acid content of the copolymers.
