Mobility of Additives in Ethylene Polymers
Diffusion rate of different additives was studied in ethylene polymers. The measured values were evaluated on the basis of the free-volume theory. It was concluded from the results that the rate of diffusion is primarily determined by the fractional free-volume of the nonocrystalline phase of the polymer, as well as the specific volume of the additive.
