A microsponge(R) system is composed of patented, highly crosslinked, porous, polymeric microspheres. An approach to evaluating the loading capacity of these Microsponge(R) delivery systems has been developed utilizing the relative interparticulate friction sensing capability of the Hausner ratio (tap density/apparent density) and comparing it to a more conventional flowability test.
