Deposition of Particles in a Convergent Channel
Particle trajectory and deposition in a convergent two-dimensional channel are analyzed for the uniform and developing laminar flow with a dilute particle concentration. The governing equations of particle motion are given under the effect of inertia force, viscous force, gravity force and electrostatic force, which were solved with the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. Depositions were calculated based on the distance traveled by a particle to reach the wall. Many computations for deposition are performed on a combination of different parameters, and the results are then discussed in detail.
